This o-ring is supplied in AS568-423 blue Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 4.225 in (107.32 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.775 in (121.29 mm), catalogued under part number V75MD423. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life.

The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact, carries NSF listing, and is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in oil and gas, chemical processing, and aerospace.
