-040 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

The S70MD040 is an AS568-040 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.864 in (72.75 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.004 in (76.3 mm). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties, physiological inertness and low toxicity. Expect good resistance to many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and extreme heat and cold. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving concentrated acids or abrasive dynamic service call for a different compound.
