This o-ring is supplied in AS568-047 red Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 4.489 in (114.02 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.629 in (117.58 mm), catalogued under part number S70MD047. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties, physiological inertness and low toxicity. It resists many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and weathering. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Verify compatibility before use with steam above its rated range or concentrated acids.
