APG stocks the S70MD129, an AS568-129 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.549 in (39.34 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.755 in (44.58 mm). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

The material holds up against many oxidizing chemicals, extreme heat and cold, and dry heat. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is specified for physiological inertness and low toxicity, an exceptionally wide service temperature range. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or concentrated acids will shorten service life.
