S70MD138 is an AS568-138 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.112 in (53.64 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.318 in (58.88 mm). In service, this o-ring delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

Silicone offers very good compression set resistance across its range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. The material holds up against weathering, many oxidizing chemicals, and ozone and UV exposure. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in abrasive dynamic service or steam above its rated range.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include food and beverage processing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and sanitary process lines.
