The S70MD153 is an AS568-153 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 3.487 in (88.57 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.693 in (93.8 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
This material stands up to weathering, extreme heat and cold, and many oxidizing chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone offers physiological inertness and low toxicity, excellent electrical insulating properties. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where concentrated acids or steam above its rated range are present.
