S70MD156 is an AS568-156 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.237 in (107.62 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.443 in (112.85 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

This material stands up to ozone and UV exposure, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone delivers an exceptionally wide service temperature range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in concentrated acids or abrasive dynamic service.

This item is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in medical devices, ovens and heated equipment, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
