-160 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

Ordered as S70MD160, this is an AS568-160 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.237 in (133.02 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.443 in (138.25 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone is specified here for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and very good compression set resistance across its range. It resists many oxidizing chemicals, extreme heat and cold, and ozone and UV exposure. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service are present.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include sanitary process lines, ovens and heated equipment, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
