-164 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

The S70MD164 is an AS568-164 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 6.237 in (158.42 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.443 in (163.65 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is specified here for exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. This material stands up to ozone and UV exposure, many oxidizing chemicals, and weathering. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where abrasive dynamic service or concentrated acids are present.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. You will find this material specified across pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and ovens and heated equipment.
