APG stocks the S70MD169, an AS568-169 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 7.487 in (190.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.693 in (195.4 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

It resists many oxidizing chemicals, extreme heat and cold, and dry heat. Silicone is widely chosen for very good compression set resistance across its range and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Exposure to concentrated acids or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.
