Ordered as S70MD171, this is an AS568-171 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 7.987 in (202.87 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.193 in (208.1 mm). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is valued for physiological inertness and low toxicity, excellent electrical insulating properties. The compound resists ozone and UV exposure, many oxidizing chemicals, and weathering.
