Part number S70MD176 is an AS568-176 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 9.237 in (234.62 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.443 in (239.85 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

This material stands up to dry heat, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone delivers very good compression set resistance across its range and excellent electrical insulating properties. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to abrasive dynamic service or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.
