APG stocks the S70MD247, an AS568-247 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.609 in (117.07 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.887 in (124.13 mm). An o-ring delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

The compound resists dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and weathering. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone offers flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and very good compression set resistance across its range. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service will shorten service life.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in electronics and electrical enclosures, ovens and heated equipment, and medical devices.
