This o-ring is supplied in AS568-309 red Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 0.412 in (10.46 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.832 in (21.13 mm), catalogued under part number S70MD309. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and extreme heat and cold. Silicone is known for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and excellent electrical insulating properties. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where concentrated acids or steam above its rated range are present.
This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in medical devices, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and ovens and heated equipment.
Stocked as S70MD309 and sold individually. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
