It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, ozone and UV exposure, and dry heat. Silicone offers very good compression set resistance across its range and an exceptionally wide service temperature range. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or concentrated acids will shorten service life.
