This o-ring is supplied in AS568-353 red Silicone 70 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 4.975 in (126.37 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.395 in (137.03 mm), catalogued under part number S70MD353. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The compound resists ozone and UV exposure, weathering, and many oxidizing chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone delivers an exceptionally wide service temperature range and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to steam above its rated range or concentrated acids will shorten service life.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in sanitary process lines, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
