S70MD364 is an AS568-364 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.725 in (170.82 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.145 in (181.48 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
The material holds up against weathering, many oxidizing chemicals, and dry heat. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is valued for physiological inertness and low toxicity, flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where steam above its rated range or concentrated acids are present.
The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in medical devices, ovens and heated equipment, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
