APG stocks the S70MD368, an AS568-368 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 7.725 in (196.22 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.145 in (206.88 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone offers physiological inertness and low toxicity, very good compression set resistance across its range. Expect good resistance to many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and extreme heat and cold. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service call for a different compound.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include ovens and heated equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and medical devices.
