S70MD378 is an AS568-378 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 10.475 in (266.07 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.895 in (276.73 mm). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Silicone is widely chosen for excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range. The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and weathering. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.
