S70MD389 is an AS568-389 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 19.953 in (506.81 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 20.373 in (517.47 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
Silicone is specified here for exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. It resists many oxidizing chemicals, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).
