The S70MD391 is an AS568-391 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 21.953 in (557.61 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 22.373 in (568.27 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
The compound resists dry heat, ozone and UV exposure, and extreme heat and cold. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is widely chosen for physiological inertness and low toxicity, an exceptionally wide service temperature range. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in hydrocarbon fuels and oils or concentrated acids.
The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include sanitary process lines, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and medical devices.
Order part number S70MD391, sold individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 22 inch. Review your operating media and conditions against this specification before installation. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
