This o-ring is supplied in AS568-406 red Silicone 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 2.1 in (53.34 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.65 in (67.31 mm), catalogued under part number S70MD406. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone offers an exceptionally wide service temperature range and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The material holds up against extreme heat and cold, ozone and UV exposure, and many oxidizing chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service.
