S70MD411 is an AS568-411 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.725 in (69.22 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.275 in (83.19 mm). In service, this o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

Silicone is specified here for physiological inertness and low toxicity, very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against ozone and UV exposure, many oxidizing chemicals, and weathering. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in hydrocarbon fuels and oils or steam above its rated range.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in sanitary process lines, food and beverage processing, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
