S70MD412 is an AS568-412 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.85 in (72.39 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.4 in (86.36 mm). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, ozone and UV exposure, and extreme heat and cold. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and ovens and heated equipment.
