S70MD417 is an AS568-417 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 3.475 in (88.27 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.025 in (102.24 mm). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties and exceptionally wide service temperature range. The material holds up against extreme heat and cold, ozone and UV exposure, and dry heat. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where concentrated acids or hydrocarbon fuels and oils are present.

This item is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in medical devices, ovens and heated equipment, and food and beverage processing.
