-422 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

S70MD422 is an AS568-422 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 4.1 in (104.14 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.65 in (118.11 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is widely chosen for very good compression set resistance across its range and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Expect good resistance to many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and ozone and UV exposure. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to concentrated acids or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include medical devices, electronics and electrical enclosures, and sanitary process lines.
