APG stocks the S70MD427, an AS568-427 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 4.725 in (120.02 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.275 in (133.99 mm). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Silicone is widely chosen for physiological inertness and low toxicity, excellent electrical insulating properties. The compound resists weathering, ozone and UV exposure, and many oxidizing chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in concentrated acids or abrasive dynamic service.
