Ordered as S70MD429, this is an AS568-429 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.975 in (126.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.525 in (140.34 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone is specified here for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and excellent electrical insulating properties. The compound resists dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and many oxidizing chemicals. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in steam above its rated range or concentrated acids.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. You will find this material specified across electronics and electrical enclosures, medical devices, and food and beverage processing.
