APG stocks the S70MD440, an AS568-440 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 6.725 in (170.82 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.275 in (184.79 mm). An o-ring delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

Expect good resistance to extreme heat and cold, many oxidizing chemicals, and dry heat. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is widely chosen for excellent electrical insulating properties and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to abrasive dynamic service or hydrocarbon fuels and oils will shorten service life.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include electronics and electrical enclosures, medical devices, and food and beverage processing.
