The S70MD444 is an AS568-444 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.725 in (196.22 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.275 in (210.19 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.
Silicone is known for physiological inertness and low toxicity, very good compression set resistance across its range. It resists weathering, extreme heat and cold, and ozone and UV exposure. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.
The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. You will find this material specified across ovens and heated equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
S70MD444 ships individually. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. Not finding the exact configuration you need? APG cross-references from prints, samples and competitor part numbers.
