The S70MD461 is an AS568-461 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 15.955 in (405.26 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.505 in (419.23 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
Silicone is specified here for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and very good compression set resistance across its range. It resists many oxidizing chemicals, extreme heat and cold, and dry heat. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service are present.
