Part number S70MD474 is an AS568-474 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 24.94 in (633.48 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 25.49 in (647.45 mm). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

It resists weathering, extreme heat and cold, and dry heat. Silicone delivers very good compression set resistance across its range and an exceptionally wide service temperature range. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Applications involving concentrated acids or steam above its rated range call for a different compound.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include medical devices, ovens and heated equipment, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
