-901 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

Ordered as S70MD901, this is an AS568-901 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.185 in (4.7 mm), a cross section of 0.056 in (1.42 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.297 in (7.54 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Silicone offers very good compression set resistance across its range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. The material holds up against ozone and UV exposure, many oxidizing chemicals, and dry heat. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or concentrated acids call for a different compound.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include sanitary process lines, food and beverage processing, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
