S70MD902 is an AS568-902 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.239 in (6.07 mm), a cross section of 0.064 in (1.63 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.367 in (9.32 mm). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.
This material stands up to dry heat, many oxidizing chemicals, and extreme heat and cold. Silicone offers excellent electrical insulating properties and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to steam above its rated range or concentrated acids will shorten service life.
This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include sanitary process lines, ovens and heated equipment, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
