Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, many acids, and engine and transmission fluids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, automotive fuel systems, and semiconductor equipment.
