The H70MD228 is an AS568-228 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 2.234 in (56.74 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.512 in (63.8 mm). This o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers strong abrasion and tear resistance, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Expect good resistance to propane and butane, hydraulic fluids, and water. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving polar solvents or strong acids call for a different compound.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include automotive, general industrial maintenance, and agricultural equipment.
