H70MD318 is an AS568-318 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.975 in (24.77 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.395 in (35.43 mm). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. The compound resists greases and lubricants, water, and petroleum-based oils. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or automotive brake fluid call for a different compound.
