Part number SH70431 is an AS568-431 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.225 in (132.72 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.775 in (146.69 mm). A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) offers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. The compound resists many alcohols, greases and lubricants, and hydraulic fluids. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to ozone and direct sunlight or ketones will shorten service life.
