The H70040 is an AS568-040 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.864 in (72.75 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.004 in (76.3 mm). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for low compression set under sustained load, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. This material stands up to greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and many alcohols. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or ozone and direct sunlight will shorten service life.
