Ordered as SH70042, this is an AS568-042 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.239 in (82.27 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.379 in (85.83 mm). The quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. It resists greases and lubricants, many alcohols, and water. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C).
