H4X114 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 114 mm (4.488 in), a cross section of 4 mm (0.157 in), and an outside diameter of 122 mm (4.8 in). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and hydraulic fluids. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to strong acids or polar solvents will shorten service life.
