The SH70162 is an AS568-162 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.737 in (145.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.943 in (150.95 mm). This quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

The compound resists petroleum-based oils, propane and butane, and many alcohols. Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C).

It sees regular use in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, automotive, and fluid power.
