The H3X176 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 176 mm (6.929 in), a cross section of 3 mm (0.118 in), and an outside diameter of 182 mm (7.17 in). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. This material stands up to many alcohols, propane and butane, and hydraulic fluids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
