H3X179 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 179 mm (7.047 in), a cross section of 3 mm (0.118 in), and an outside diameter of 185 mm (7.28 in). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for strong abrasion and tear resistance, most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against propane and butane, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Verify compatibility before use with ozone and direct sunlight or ketones.
