An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, strong abrasion and tear resistance. It resists many alcohols, greases and lubricants, and propane and butane. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where polar solvents or ozone and direct sunlight are present.
