H1X40 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 40 mm (1.575 in), a cross section of 1 mm (0.039 in), and an outside diameter of 42 mm (1.65 in). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Buna-N (Nitrile) offers low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material holds up against many alcohols, hydraulic fluids, and water. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
