Ordered as H5X40, this is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 40 mm (1.575 in), a cross section of 5 mm (0.197 in), and an outside diameter of 50 mm (1.97 in). The o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, low compression set under sustained load. The material holds up against many alcohols, propane and butane, and hydraulic fluids. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to polar solvents or strong acids will shorten service life.
