Ordered as SH70440, this is an AS568-440 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.725 in (170.82 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.275 in (184.79 mm). The quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. It resists propane and butane, water, and many alcohols. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in strong acids or ketones.
