Ordered as H3.5X45, this is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 45 mm (1.772 in), a cross section of 3.5 mm (0.138 in), and an outside diameter of 52 mm (2.05 in). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The compound resists water, petroleum-based oils, and hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or ozone and direct sunlight.
