The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, greases and lubricants, and petroleum-based oils. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer.
